Season’s Greetings LNES Families!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and was able to spend quality time with family and friends.

November was another busy month at LNES!  Thank you to all of the families who came out to support us at our Community Holiday Shopping Event on Friday.  I hope you were able to find some unique gifts and get your picture with Santa!  We also hosted 1st grade and Kindergarten activity night in the month of November.   The children had a great time!   I wanted to once again thank everyone for their incredible generosity of time in planning all the events, running them and donating all the supplies that are needed.   We cannot do any of this without our volunteers.

December is filled with lots of fun activities for your children to enjoy!  December 4-6th, we will be having our winter book fair.  Please feel free to stop by the school lobby on Wednesday December 5th from 6-8 pm, and add to your child’s library.  From December 11-13th, the children will get to shop for holiday presents at our annual Holiday Shop Craft Fair.  We have many crafters coming in to sell their handmade items for the children to select and surprise their loved ones.  If you are interested in volunteering for either event, or have any questions, please contact the committee chairs Crystal Skutches and Jamie Rogan.

We also will be celebrating the holidays in the classrooms with our Holiday Parties and a visit from Santa.  As always, we thank you in advance for working with our Lead Parents to help in the classroom, as well as donate supplies needed to make special memories, which last a lifetime.  The parties will be held on Thursday, December 20th.  Homeroom Lead Parents will be in contact with more details soon.

As a reminder, there WILL NOT be a PTA meeting this month.  We will resume our regular PTA meetings on Thursday, January 3, 2018 at 7pm.  We hope to start the New Year off right and see you all there!

I hope everyone has a joyous Holiday season and a Happy New Year.

Tracey Reilly, LNES PTA President 2018-2019

download (1).jpgHello Parents!

October was a very busy month at LNES!   We kicked off the month with our annual Fitness Walk, hosted activity nights for 2nd and 3rd grade, celebrated Red Ribbon Week and ended with our Halloween costume parade and parties!   Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped make each event a fun and memorable one for our students!

This year’s Fitness Walk was another success thanks to all of your donations!  This year was the first we had the option for mail-in donations which accounted for 10% of our fundraising!  We are grateful for the LNES support from near and far!  We also want to thank the Nazareth Area High School football players and cheerleaders, parents and Newburg for coming to cheer on our students!  We raised over $5800 which will be used towards classroom technology, field trips assemblies and much more!

Boo Grams were a hit this year! We sold over 1000 boo grams to be distributed to students and teachers!  That is double the number we sold last Halloween!   Thank you to Nancy Teague and her team of parents who made and tagged all of the boo grams!   We are already working on our Candy Cane Grams which will be on sale in December!

With the holidays around the corner it will soon be time to start our holiday shopping!  Did you know you can support the LNES PTA by shopping on Amazon?  You can set up your account to   donate to LNES  by searching for Lower Nazareth Township PTA.  Anytime you shop use https://smile.amazon.com/ and the LNES PTA will get 0.5% of whatever you purchase!

Our November PTA calendar is filling up with fun events for everyone!

1st Grade Activity Night – Friday, November 2nd  6-8pm
Kindergarten Activity Night – Friday November 9th   6-8pm

BOOK FAIR

Our second Scholastic Book Fair will take place on December 4-6, 2018.  Wow!  It’s hard to believe that December is next month already!  The Holiday Book Fair will run during school hours for the students to shop.  This will give them a chance to purchase books for themselves or a gift for someone special.  We are also opening it up to the public on Wednesday the 5th in the evening from 6:00 to 8:00 (it will be the same night as the Giving Tree drop off).  This will allow parents and/or grandparents to do some holiday shopping too.  So, mark your calendars for 12/5/2018 and I hope to see you there!

This will also be my last year at LNES and the book fair will need a new chairperson next year. I’ve had 7 successful fairs so far and I can offer my knowledge this year to leave you a better understanding for next year. I want to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to help with the Back To School Book Fair.  I was so amazed how fast the volunteer time slots filled up.  Wow!  The fair wouldn’t had run so smooth without each and every one of you!!  The sales total was much higher this year compared to last year.  I owe a big thank you to all the parents who shopped at the Open House and who allowed the kids to shop with their class.  The school will get a percentage back to offset the costs of activities that is supplied to the students.  I greatly appreciate all your support for the children, the school, and the Scholastic book fair.
