November 2018 PTA News

download (1).jpgHello Parents!

October was a very busy month at LNES!   We kicked off the month with our annual Fitness Walk, hosted activity nights for 2nd and 3rd grade, celebrated Red Ribbon Week and ended with our Halloween costume parade and parties!   Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped make each event a fun and memorable one for our students!

This year’s Fitness Walk was another success thanks to all of your donations!  This year was the first we had the option for mail-in donations which accounted for 10% of our fundraising!  We are grateful for the LNES support from near and far!  We also want to thank the Nazareth Area High School football players and cheerleaders, parents and Newburg for coming to cheer on our students!  We raised over $5800 which will be used towards classroom technology, field trips assemblies and much more!

Boo Grams were a hit this year! We sold over 1000 boo grams to be distributed to students and teachers!  That is double the number we sold last Halloween!   Thank you to Nancy Teague and her team of parents who made and tagged all of the boo grams!   We are already working on our Candy Cane Grams which will be on sale in December!

With the holidays around the corner it will soon be time to start our holiday shopping!  Did you know you can support the LNES PTA by shopping on Amazon?  You can set up your account to   donate to LNES  by searching for Lower Nazareth Township PTA.  Anytime you shop use and the LNES PTA will get 0.5% of whatever you purchase!

Our November PTA calendar is filling up with fun events for everyone!

Kindergarten Activity Night – Friday November 9th   6-8pm

Our next PTA meeting will be on Wednesday, November 7th at 7pm.   We hope to see you there.   Please note children are welcome as we will have childcare in the large group room.

As we spend this month giving thanks, please know how thankful the PTA is for each and every LNES family!   We are grateful for your support throughout the year.

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving break.

Tracey Reilly, LNES PTA President 2018-2019

Our second Scholastic Book Fair will take place on December 4-6, 2018.  Wow!  It’s hard to believe that December is next month already!  The Holiday Book Fair will run during school hours for the students to shop.  This will give them a chance to purchase books for themselves or a gift for someone special.  We are also opening it up to the public on Wednesday the 5th in the evening from 6:00 to 8:00 (it will be the same night as the Giving Tree drop off).  This will allow parents and/or grandparents to do some holiday shopping too.  So, mark your calendars for 12/5/2018 and I hope to see you there!

This will also be my last year at LNES and the book fair will need a new chairperson next year. I’ve had 7 successful fairs so far and I can offer my knowledge this year to leave you a better understanding for next year. Please contact me if you would be interested in shadowing me this year or if you have any questions.

Hoot, Hoot!! The 2018-2019 membership drive is underway.  Please consider supporting the LNES PTA by joining our schools PTA. Without all of your support the PTA would not be able to host the many events and activities the students are provided, as well as the end of year field trips.  The cost is 8.00 for one membership and 15.00 for two memberships.  Checks can be made out to LNES PTA. The class with the most members will receive a class party at the end of the year!! Any questions please contact the committee chair: Jennifer Novak at

Our 7th Annual Fitness Walk was again a success, pledges totaling over $5800. We had good weather and the students all looked like they were having a great time. A big thank you to all of the parents who volunteered and the high school cheerleaders and football players who joined us for the first time.  A special thanks to Mr. Mann for setting up the course and to Jason Janis for being Newburg for us.
