Hello LNES Families!
We’d like to welcome you all back to what is shaping up to be an exciting and busy school year. Hopefully with a month of school behind us we have all survived and are back in the school routine! We would also like to welcome all of the new families to LNES! We are so excited to have you at Lower Nazareth!
Thank you to everyone that came to our Back to School Night at Rita’s. What a great night it was to enjoy a refreshing treat while spending time with other LNES families. Newburg enjoyed seeing all of his friends. The money we raised that night goes towards field trips, assemblies and classroom supplies.
It was wonderful to see so many new faces at the PTA Open House at the beginning of September. We hope you found the evening to be very informative. There are so many ways you can volunteer with the PTA. We’re excited to work with all of you on the many activities our PTA brings to LNES every year. Our next PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, October 11th at 7pm. We hope to see you there!
There are a lot of great things planned for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. We are starting the year with our Fall Fundraising Fitness Walk event at LNES on Thursday, October 4th (rain date: Fri. October 5th). The kids enjoy a fun morning of exercise, music and school spirit all while helping to raise funds for class trips, assemblies and classroom technology. Newburg will be there along with Nazareth High School cheerleaders and football players to cheer the kids on! Parents are invited to come and cheer on your child and their classmates. Kindergarten and 1st start at 9am and 2nd and 3rd start at 10am. Hope to see you on the playground.
Other upcoming events include Fire Prevention Week, (week of Oct. 10th) and our Halloween costume parade and classroom party (Friday October 26th).
October also means Activity Nights! Grade specific activity nights are: Third Grade: Friday October 19th, Second Grade: Friday October 26th, First Grade: Friday November 2nd, Kindergarten: Friday November 9th. These are excellent opportunities for your child to get to know the other children in their grades and a fun evening for parents to volunteer. More information will be coming home soon!
Your PTA has been working hard to make this school year another amazing and memorable year. We are looking forward to working with all of you! If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

I want to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to help with the Back To School Book Fair. I was so amazed how fast the volunteer time slots filled up. Wow! The fair wouldn’t had run so smooth without each and every one of you!! The sales total was much higher this year compared to last year. I owe a big thank you to all the parents who shopped at the Open House and who allowed the kids to shop with their class. The school will get a percentage back to offset the costs of activities that is supplied to the students. I greatly appreciate all your support for the children, the school, and the Scholastic book fair. I hope everyone is enjoying their new books.
There will be two more book fairs this school year to help build the children’s home and school libraries. The next one is the Holiday Book Fair that is scheduled for December 4-6, 2018. The last one is in April and it will be a Buy One Get One Free Book Fair.
This is my last year at LNES and the book fair will need a new chairperson next year. I’ve had 7 successful fairs so far and I can offer my knowledge this year to leave you a better understanding for next year. Please contact me if you would be interested in shadowing me this year or if you have any questions. Thank you!

Volunteering is one of the best ways a parent can help support our students, faculty and staff. We are busy finalizing our volunteer lists. If you didn’t get your volunteer form turned in yet there is still time! We’d like to thank all of the parents who have signed up to volunteer and those who have been helping out during lunch and in the art room! If you are interested in volunteering please make sure your clearances are on file with the district office. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved this year, so please consider donating some of your time. If you have any questions please email me at LNESVolunteer@gmail.com

In just the first month of school we have already started capturing memories for our 2018-2019 memorybook. Thank you to the parents who sent in first day of school pictures! If you are at an LNES event and you take pictures we’d love to have them for the memorybook. Please send any pictures to LNESMemorybook@gmail.com

Together We Grow in our LNES PTA!
Hoot, Hoot!! The 2018-2019 membership drive is underway. Please consider supporting the LNES PTA by joining our schools PTA. Without all of your support the PTA would not be able to host the many events and activities the students are provided, as well as the end of year field trips. The cost is 8.00 for one membership and 15.00 for two memberships. Checks can be made out to LNES PTA. The class with the most members will receive a class party at the end of the year!! Any questions please contact the committee chair: Jennifer Novak at email@example.com
